♥ Using own skin cells to repair hearts on horizon
Robert Schwartz, Cullen Distinguished Professor of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston, has pioneered a breakthrough technique for turning ordinary human skin cells into early-stage heart cells. [March 2, 2010] Schwartz is a member of the THI professional staff and director of stem cell engineering for the Stem Cell and Heart Failure Research Laboratory.
